Course code has three parts：
  • Course title
  • Grade
  • Course Type

Course Title：

The first three letters of the course number are the course title. It also is the course code. For example, ENG is English. Usually the first letter represents a category and the last two letters represent a small branch.

  • A=the Art（ATC=dance，ADA=drama……）
  • B=Businesses study
  • C=Canadian and world study （include civics）
  • L=Classical studies and International language
  • ICS=Computer science
  • ENG= English （ESL/ELD can use as English，ENG4U is the required course for university）
  • N=First nation studies
  • F=French as a second language (Basic FSF course）
  • G=Career education （Required）
  • P= Health and physical education（Required）
  • ID=Interdisciplinary Studies
  • M=Math（MHF4U, MCV4U are required by almost every university）
  • S=Science （SNC=Science, SBI=Biology, SCH=Chemistry, SPH=Physics……）
  • H=Humanity
  • T=Technological Education
