Frequently Asked Questions

First of all, a top university not only values students’ personal achievements, but participating in various activities can also be recognized as a qualified candidate.

Please imagine the following scenario: if two students with the same excellent GPA who both want to apply for computer science major, who do you think will get admitted? One of the students has won the competition and the other one doesn’t? The answer is obvious. This kind of example can be found everywhere during the process of university application, so it is important to participate in valable after school activities!

This is not right. First of all, students must look for volunteer opportunities after confirming their hobbies and future major. I’m sure you all know that you need at least 30-40 hours of volunteer time to graduate from high school. However, if a student just works as a waitress or a cashier for 30-40 hours, they can’t compare with those students who volunteer in charities or government offices. Because charities and government work are more meaningful and valuable than restaurants and shops. Therefore, it is important for students to find volunteer work which can help them to achieve their ideal major.

In this case, students can consider creating a club they are interested in, and then find like-minded partners in school. Although it takes time to start your own club, it will show your leadership and problem solving ability to university.

It’s a good idea to participate in clubs, but students should remember that quality is better than quantity. A valuable club activity is far more effective than several ineffective club activities. Also, too many club activities will distract students, and may have a bad influence on their academic performance.
