IELTS(Academic)

IELTS stands for International English Language Testing System. It is an international standardized English proficiency test, which is often used as the English level evaluation test of every English speaking country and university.

Following the communication-based concept, the IELTS test is divided into four categories: listening, speaking, reading and writing.

As a result, it can evaluate the English level of a student, and because it is widely recognized by English speaking countries, more than 3 million people sign up for the IELTS test every year.

The IELTS test is divided into two categories, that is, IELTS Academic and IELTS General. IELTS Academic is a language test that foreign students must pass. Usually, the university requires a total score of 6.5 and no less than 6 points for a single subject.

Students who do not meet the requirements, do not be discouraged, if your school performance and grade is excellent, you can still be admitted. However, before entering the university, the student needs to attend the language class to improve English level.

Because it is an academic exam, IELTS A’s reading and writing will be more difficult than IELTS G.

IELTS test :
Listening

The test is 40 minutes long (including 10 minutes for transcribing answers). Examinees will hear four recordings, and the difficulty increases with the progress of the exam. These recordings include some monologues and conversations. Different English accents will also be heard in the exam.

The recording can only be listened to once, and examinees will be given some time to read the questions and try your best to answer all of them.

Academic Reading

The test is 60 minutes long.

Candidates will read three articles and answer questions from the contents of the text. Articles are selected from books, magazines, periodicals and newspapers. Readers are not required to have professional knowledge, but rich vocabulary is required.

Academic Writing

The test is 60 minutes long. Candidates are required to write an article of about 150 words based on the given tables or charts to examine their ability to describe and analyze data.

In the second part, candidates are required to write a short essay of about 250 words for a certain question or point of view. Candidates are required to be able to discuss and demonstrate the problem in the appropriate vocabulary, grammar, etc.

Speaking

The test is 11 to 14 minutes long.

The form of the speaking test is a one-to-one interview. The examiner will have a one-on-one conversation with the examinee with the topics of daily life, make a certain length of description of required topics, and examine the ability of interaction between the examinee and the examiner.

Usually speaking tests may be arranged one day ahead or after the exam, and candidates are generally informed of the time in advance.
