AP Calculus (AB/BC)

The full name of AP is Advanced Placement, which is what we commonly call the university preparatory course. The AP exam was held by American university governors in 1955 to give high school students access to college courses and to complete some of them ahead of schedule if they have the ability to do so. There are 22 categories, including 37 different disciplines.

First of all, everyone must be familiar with calculus. Calculus is a compulsory subject for most people after entering university.

Calculus Divided Into Four Parts :

After stepping into the university from high school, the name of the basic course of mathematics has changed to calculus(I,II,III,IV). The higher the number is, the more difficult the course is, and the AP calculus is equivalent to the content of calculus (I).

There Are Two Kinds of AP Calculus Course :

The main difference between them is the range of study content. In short, AP Calculus (BC) contains the content of AP Calculus (AB) plus extra content. In other words, compared to AP Calculus (AB), AP Calculus (BC) will be more comprehensive.

If AP Calculus (AB) contains only 2/3 of university calculus content, AP Calculus (BC) contains all the contents. When we choose, we should not just look at our own choices, but should consider the requirements of our universities. Most famous schools, such as MIT in the United States, do not accept the results of AP Calculus (AB), but must require students to take the course of AP Calculus (BC).

So the students must be careful when choosing which AP test they are going to take before making a decision!

AP Calculus Course Five-points Rate:

The 5-point rate of AP Calculus (BC) is much higher than that of AP Calculus (AB). The 5-point rate of AP Calculus (BC) is about 40%, while that of Calculus (AB) is only 19%.
